Liffey River in Dublin
after one day in Dublin we decided that this was not the Ireland that we were looking for. Dublin unfortunately is a large modern city at this point with a high cost of living.. in fact, Dublin is rated the 13th most expensive city to live in. here's an example... pack of cigarettes is 8 euros, which translates to $12 usd. helen and I have had a hard time eating for less than 5 euros ea. as far as the friendly irish, everyone in Dublin seemed way too busy to stop and chat. there are hardly any benches nor any local green areas to sit and lounge. the bulk of the city seemed to be walking somewhere very fast and deliberately. so, for 10.50 euros, we took a 4 hour bus ride south to Cork.. Ireland's second largest city, passing many sheep farms and local villages on the way, all very nice and very quaint. the weather too has been very nice and sunny, strangely warm for this time of year, I'm told.

anyway, Cork is nice. we are heading to Blarney today before heading up to Tralee and the Dingle peninsula.

did you get to see the Spire of Dublin?
Aww, I love that you set up this site. I miss you guys so much. Keep posting this stuff! I'm checking it everyday since I'm jobless right now and can only take so much of setting up the apartment. Love you guys!
Images are looking pretty good.
Grahem... we didn't get to see the Spire of Dublin... we did see the Temple Bar area though... where all the bars and kids seem to be. fyi - Dublin sux as it's friggin expensive and not worth it. We only spent one night there, and it was enough.
